I completely forgot about the alternative 3NPS for guitar, I've been using the one that spans 5 frets mainly but the one that spans 4 makes much more sense for playing chords. It's more compact!

I should start considering tension, release and surprise as a factor in my music writing; My theory with it before was that if the track needed it you would just do it; I like making more chill tracks, but it may be better to just keep in mind when a section is more tense or not.
